Honda Civic

The newer Honda Civic models are offered in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L (sedan only), and Touring (Sport Touring for the hatchback) trim levels. With its wide and low stance and athletic profile, the Civic gives the impression of a big cat ready to pounce.

With the LX trim, you get 16-inch steel wheels (alloys on the hatchback), automatic headlamps, body-colored door handles and mirror caps, and distinctive LED C-shaped taillights. The hatchback features a body-color rear roofline spoiler.

The Sport trim gives you remote entry, walk-away automatic locking, 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, and a center-mounted exhaust. The sedan gets a gloss-black decklid spoiler, while the hatchback features an underbody spoiler kit.

EX models offer a power moonroof, 17-inch wheels, and heated mirrors. Stepping up to the Touring trim gets you 18-inch wheels, LED headlamps, rain-sensitive wipers, and mirrors with LED turn signals.

Under the hood of LX and Sport sedans is a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter engine delivering 138 pound-feet of torque via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The other sedans feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that generates 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. All hatchback trims are powered by the 1.5-liter turbo, but in Sport and Touring Sport models it's mated to a six-speed manual transmission to produce 177 pound-feet of torque.

The Civic's deceptively roomy cabin offers ample space for five people. The sedan has a spacious 15.1 cubic-foot trunk. The hatchback has 25.7 cubic feet of luggage space behind the rear seats, while folding them down gives you 46.2 cubic feet for cargo.

In the LX, you'll find fabric upholstery, automatic temperature control, a tilting and telescoping steering column, and cruise control. The infotainment system features a 5-inch color display, Bluetooth, and a four-speaker audio system.

Go with the Sport for remote start, sports pedals, a leather-bound steering wheel and shift knob, a 7-inch touch-screen display, smartphone capability, and an eight-speaker sound system. EX models add a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and HD and satellite radio. Step up to the EX-L for leather upholstery and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, while the Touring and Sport Touring models offer a power-adjustable passenger seat, heated rear seats, navigation, and a premium 10-speaker sound system.

All Civic trims come standard with Honda Sensing safety technology.
